The Shivalik Institute of Nursing is a Prestigious Nursing Institution of Northern India. Established in 2009 by the Shivalik Education Welfare Society, the institution is located in the scenic and serene hills of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Affiliated to the Himachal Pradesh University, it is the only private nursing institution attached to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGNC) hospital, the apex health institution of the state. The computer lab is spacious and well-planned with the latest hi-tech configuration of hardware and software. A computer lab has internet facility also.
This lab has eight beds and each bed has a manikin for nursing practice. Lab is well equipped with all the articles required for various nursing procedures, so that student nurses can learn the procedures on manikins before doing them on patients in the hospital.
It is fitted with gas stoves, microwave oven for teaching therapeutic diets to student. Nutrition lab is well equipped with all kitchen article for preparing and serving special diets to cater to the needs of patients suffering from Diabetes, Hypertension, Jaundice or Renal failure.
It has fifteen quality microscopes, glucometers and other equipment to conduct various bio chemistry tests.
Maternal and child health lab has beds six beds with manikins and bedside cradles with new born dummies. There is a paediatric bed with a child dummy. It also has a delivery table and dummies for demonstration of labour. MCH lab is well equipped with various models for teaching students about stages of pregnancy.

This lab is well equipped with articles for preparing student nurses to work in urban and rural communities. It has bags containing all the articles for community health nurses to perform various procedures during their home visits.
Our classrooms seats up to 60 and is quite spacious, well ventilated with overhead projectors, flip charts and comfortable seating arrangements, ideally suited for high-calibre academic work.
